Simon recently served as HSBC’s Head of Mid-Market Financial Sponsors in the North West. Having held the role for nearly a decade, Simon is well-known in the North West business lending market. Prior to HSBC Simon worked for Clydesdale & Yorkshire Bank and Lloyds Bank.

Simon Dixon

Senior Director, Business Development

David enjoys interacting with ambitious management teams and takes the time to really understand their aspirations which enables him to deliver the right solution at the right time.

He is responsible for supporting the North West region, where he works alongside the advisory community delivering M&A and complex funding solutions.

David has an array of funding experience having supported management teams at various stages of their journey, including Venture Debt/Growth Capital, Private Equity and M&A finance. David’s career started with Bank of Scotland some 18 years ago and since this time, he has grown a number of businesses for the likes of Lloyds Banking Group and Santander, latterly leading the National Debt Finance Team at Barclays.

David Parr

Director, Regional Business Development

Mike brings a wealth of experience in the banking and finance industry, having previously worked at Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group. Mike spent the last five years as a Senior Relationship Manager covering commercial businesses in the £1m to £30m turnover space.

Mike Dinnell

Director, Regional Business Development

Michelle has worked with SMEs across the lower mid-market space for almost a decade and brings a wealth of experience in the financial services and business banking industry from her time working at Clydesdale Bank and more recently, Virgin Money. There she has spent the last two years as a director in acquisition leveraged finance. 

Michelle plays a key role in servicing the increasing levels of demand for funding to support the growth of mid-sized SMEs across the North and Midlands, with a particular focus on supporting private equity backed businesses.

Stephen has over 10 years banking experience, predominantly in structured, leveraged finance roles at RBS, NatWest and most recently at CYBG where he worked in the Structured Finance team in Manchester originating and executing mid-market debt transactions.

Based out of our Manchester office, Stephen works alongside our local teams in the North where we continue to increase our capabilities to meet the demand for funding from regional mid-sized businesses.

Rob manages credit analysis for ThinCats across the Northern region, having worked in the banking sector since 1979. He previously worked in commercial and corporate finance for Barclays, Co-op, Santander, and set up AIB Capital Markets corporate finance operation in the North.

Robert Thompson

Regional Head of Credit, the North

Having initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PwC, Ben brings experience of working in corporate finance advisory functions specializing in MBOs and PFI contracts, as well as commercial banking across RBS and Lloyds, and has a wide variety of experience in both relationship management and credit.

Ben Drummond

Senior Director, Transaction Management

Richard is passionate about supporting a sector of the economy that desperately needs better funding options. He has significant experience from both sides of healthcare, and so is very keen to support good operators in the sector who are looking to grow, but are being badly let down by traditional lenders.

Richard’s role is to raise ThinCats’ profile in the healthcare sector and lead the launch of the healthcare fund, focussing on providing lending options to residential, nursing and dementia care homes as well as the many specialist care homes in the field. 

Richard comes with more than twenty years of experience across financial services and healthcare, including 13 years with RBS and AIB, and eight years with healthcare specialist brokers, Chandler & Co. Additionally, Richard has six years’ direct experience as a care home owner.

Richard Henshaw

Director, Head of Healthcare

Having worked for a number of high street banks, Stuart has seen the traditional lenders limit their appetite for SME cashflow lending. With a pragmatic approach and the ability to make quick decisions, he believes that Thincats are well positioned to support an underserved SME market - Stuart particularly enjoys working with management teams to provide finance to support their business needs and growth aspirations.
Stuart works to develop relationships with key finance professionals including brokers, accountants and corporate financiers along with Private Equity, to support SMEs in their growth ambitions, covering both London and Reading.
Stuart has 11 years’ experience in banking, working with SMEs and mid-market businesses across a number of industries, most recently for RBS and Clydesdale. He has provided finance to support event driven transactions such as management buy outs, acquisitions, growth finance and refinance.

Stuart Thompson

Head of Transitional Capital

Satyen has over 10 years of corporate banking experience, having previously worked at Cynergy Bank, Metro Bank and Clydesdale bank as a business partner. Satyen’s experience will support us through the next phase of our growth.
