Having worked for a number of high street banks, Stuart has seen the traditional lenders limit their appetite for SME cashflow lending. With a pragmatic approach and the ability to make quick decisions, he believes that Thincats are well positioned to support an underserved SME market - Stuart particularly enjoys working with management teams to provide finance to support their business needs and growth aspirations.
Stuart works to develop relationships with key finance professionals including brokers, accountants and corporate financiers along with Private Equity, to support SMEs in their growth ambitions, covering both London and Reading.
Stuart has 11 years’ experience in banking, working with SMEs and mid-market businesses across a number of industries, most recently for RBS and Clydesdale. He has provided finance to support event driven transactions such as management buy outs, acquisitions, growth finance and refinance.
Greg has a diverse blend of SME expertise across direct lending, special situations and distressed turnaround investing, which he believes enables ThinCats to take a unique approach. Undertaking fundamental value analysis on each opportunity, with appropriate appreciation for downside protection, allows ThinCats to approach each deal with a commercial understanding that many competitors are unable to replicate.
Greg is involved with all aspects of the investment process from identifying and refining credit mandates, assessing opportunities as a member of the investment committee, running the credit team, and portfolio management.
Greg has over 15 years’ experience on the buy-side across a wide range of products with more of a focus on the SME end of the market. His wide-ranging experience is born from financial institutions such as ESO Capital, Sun Capital Partners, Barings and KPMG.
