Why mutual success is based on strong long-term relationships
ThinCats’ relationship with Total Integrated Solutions (TIS) goes back to December 2021 where we provided a funding package to support its ambitious growth plans led by CEO James Twigg.
Headquartered in Mansfield with regional offices in Nottingham, Birmingham, Leeds and Uxbridge, TIS is an independent life safety, security and communications systems integrator across a number of sectors including retirement villages, open space CCTV and Smart City installations, university campuses and the Ministry of Defence.
An opportunity for TIS to acquire Nationwide Specialist Projects (NSP), a leader in smoke control and ventilation systems based in Kidderminster, emerged this summer. Working alongside TIS management and their equity partner Key Capital Partners, we feel that NSP is a complementary addition to TIS’s existing revenue streams. We believe there are also attractive opportunities for NSP to benefit from TIS’s expertise in generating recurring revenues from servicing and maintenance contracts.
In addition to the financials of any acquisition, we are interested in other factors such as the cultural fit and expertise of the management team being acquired, where the transaction also scored highly.
Helped by our existing relationships with TIS and Key Capital Partners we were able to create a suitable structure for the acquisition finance and deliver the funding on schedule.
TIS continues to perform strongly in its core markets. The acquisition of NSP will enable the company to further accelerate this growth through offering a wider range of services and leveraging its expertise in sophisticated life-safety systems. We appreciate the continued support of ThinCats and their role in facilitating the successful transactionMatt Tice, Director, Key Capital Partners
Chris Sutton, CFO, TIS: “The acquisition of NSP by TIS is a significant and exciting step for both businesses as we seek to maximise growth opportunities across the enlarged group. ThinCats has been very supportive since the start of our relationship in 2021 and we look forward to continue working closely with Dave and the wider ThinCats team.”
