ThinCats opens Sheffield office as base for new sales head
Staying connected to the regional business communities we operate in is vital. This is why we have teams of boots-on-the-ground funding experts and why we have set up a new base in the heart of Sheffield.
Businesses are thriving across Yorkshire, with Sheffield boasting a greater number of high growth SMEs - ten per cent higher - than the UK average. Utilising our smart data model, we have also identified thousands of SMEs in the city who are poised to grow and likely to need funding over the next 12 months. It is therefore an ideal location for us to station our enterprising team of Yorkshire funding experts including Kevin Steven and Ben Kimball who joined us last year.
“The Sheffield economy is incredibly dynamic as it transitions from its traditional manufacturing heritage to new industries. Our data shows that the city is behind only London and Birmingham in having the highest number of companies likely to need funding over the next 12 months. Sheffield also has a higher proportion of high growth companies than the UK average. In our mission to help UK businesses secure the funding they need to grow, we want to be fully immersed in the local business community"
Damon Walford, Chief Development Officer
The office will be led by Mike Hackett, who becomes ThinCats’ new Head of Sales. With more than 22 years’ experience in banking and corporate finance, Mike previously led the RBS trading, real estate and healthcare team across Yorkshire and Humberside. Prior to this Mike was Head of Business Development for Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking across the North.
Mike Hackett, Head of Sales, ThinCats: “I am delighted to be joining ThinCats. I’ve seen from previous roles, the growing presence of alternative lenders like ThinCats who are effectively challenging the banks in the business lending sector. This is a great opportunity and I join a strong team across Yorkshire.”
We now have four offices across the UK including London, Birmingham, and our headquarters in Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire, with more planned in 2019. We look forward to welcoming you to our new regional hub and continuing to support SMEs across Yorkshire.
